ID guide including descriptions and distribution maps of 72 specie., Introductory chapters cover the updated diversity of Aquitaine landscapes, the life cycle of orchids and threats and conservation measures. 31 routes across Aquitaine are described indicating where orchids can be seen in their habitats.
The cover flap has a summary table of flowering times of all orchids and sites where they are present.

The text of the first edition has been fully reviewed by Frank Jouandoudet. Under his leadership, members of the French Society of Aquitaine Orchidophilie have updated all the data.
