Original green cloth bindings with gilt titles to spine and black borders and titles to covers. Some marks and a little edge-wear to boards. Gilt top edges somewhat dust dulled. Contents remain crisp and clean with some age toning. Only the very occasional, very light hint of foxing. Both volumes’ FEPs have the armorial bookplate of Boswell George Jalland (1853–1935), a 19th and early 20th-century landowner and scion of a prominent East Riding of Yorkshire family.
