This report of stratabound ore deposits in the Andes contains three types of contributions. In the first part the reader will find four reviews focusing on the geologic framework of the area, and on metallogenesis in Andean countries. There is also an overview of the stratabound ore deposits in the Andes, emphasizing their geotechtonic position as a classification tool. Part 2 comprises 53 contributions describing particular ore deposits and districts. Part 3 is devoted to comparative geochemical and isotopic aspects of the possible metal sources of stratabound deposits in the Andes. In addition, appendices are included containing data on stratabound ore deposits and occurrences in the Andes as well as a fold-out of three colour maps (1:10.000.000) in which the most representative ore deposits have been plotted in their geological and palaeogeographical framework.
