Scarce early edition. Blue cloth boards with gilt spine titles, floral borders to covers and gilt top edge; spine faded/soot toned, lightly bumped extremities; black endpapers, presumably a replacement to the original, then more recently partially replaced at front; rear of original endpaper and half title page significantly toned, the latter with small loss at the bottom; rear hinge slightly cracked; slight lean. Internally generally crisp and clean bar a very small number of pencil notes and a couple of bent corners, one of which has had a repair; only light age toning throughout.
