Author Biography

Dr Zafar Siddiq is currently serving as Associate Professor at the Department of Botany, Government College University Lahore, Pakistan. With teaching, research and administrative experience of over twenty three years, he was a Fellow of the British Council in 2009 and a PhD (Ecology) graduate from the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2016. Dr Zafar Siddiq has over 55 research publications in renowned peer-reviewed international journals with an impact factor of over 140 and H-index of 16. He has also written book chapters and booklets related to his areas of interest. He was recently awarded with the Excellent Research Award for the year 2025. Over 50 students, including BS, MS and PhD, have completed their research theses under his supervision. Prof Dr Tehreema Iftikhar is Professor of Botany at Government College University (GCU), Lahore, Pakistan, and a leading expert in applied plant sciences. With over twenty years of teaching, research, and academic leadership, she has contributed extensively to the study of plant diversity, bioprocessing, and applied botany. She holds MSc, MPhil, and PhD degrees in Botany from GCU Lahore, completed a PhD fellowship at Seoul National University, South Korea, and postdoctoral research at Cornell University, USA. Prof Iftikhar has published in peer-reviewed journals, book chapters, and authored the book Industrial Revolution 6.0: A Climate Resilience Approach (2026). She has been granted two patents with multiple submissions. She has served as Vice President (Punjab) and Joint Secretary of the Pakistan Botanical Society, and is a Fellow of the Women Leadership Program (MSU, USA), a Fellow of the Biological Society of Pakistan, and a Life Member of the Pakistan Botanical Society.
