This book documents the passion and the pain, and the trials and tribulations inherent in a collaboration of the magnitude of the main work. Many personalities, both past and present, were involved in the making of the Amaryllidaceae book. It is a story of endeavour, frustration, adventure and eventual triumph. This soft cover volume includes all the preparatory sketches, unfinished or discarded illustrations, photographs of the participants and handwritten letters of the early collectors.
