The Biology of Rocky Shores

This is an introduction to the biology of organisms that live on temperate rocky shores, suitable for field courses and lectures. Using examples from all over the world, it describes the physical factors that affect the organisms, the biology of the animals and plants that live on the shore, the factors that control them, and the communities they form. It also provides examples of observations or experimental work for field courses or project work, and considers the problems of pollution and conservation in the context of effects on biodiversity.
