Grey paper covered boards with black spine titles; binding in Fine condition aside from a few light marks to the boards. Internally exceptionally crisp, clean and bright with almost no age-toning or foxing. A small 1955 ownership inscription to the front pastedown, a small ink stain and some pencil notes to the first blank. 8 hand-coloured plates in near Fine condition including a fold-out colour plate at rear on blight in corn. Overall Very Good+ / near Fine. Photos available on request. The plates in this 4th edition are noticeably bolder and brighter imprints of the plates than the later editions.
