Pollen Grains of New Zealand Dicotyledonous Plants

This volume contains descriptions and illustrations for the most important and numerous group of New Zealand’s indigenous flowering plants, the dicotyledons. It serves as a reference to those interested in pollen analysis. Identification of pollen is an essential part of such diverse activities as studies of vegetation and climate history, determining floral souces of honey, forensic science, research into airborne allergens and oil exploration. The book contains 71 plates, each with approximately 15 light microscope or scanning electron microscope photographs, showing important features of the pollen grains. Some plates include views of grains from different angles to help indentify individual species.
