Plants of the Pyrenees Peaks is an illustrated guide to the 632 species that grow at altitudes of 2,300 m and above in the Pyrenees. Each plant has a file with one or more photographs, original drawings of its most characteristic organs, a map showing its distribution and abundance in different sectors of the Pyrenees, the type of pollination, seed dispersal, sex distribution and types of reproduction, the altitudes at which the plant is found in the Pyrenees, and its presence on other continents, mountain ranges in Europe, and administrative regions of the Pyrenees.

The introduction includes a detailed description of the characteristics of the mountain range’s alpine territory (geology, soils, climate, relief, radiation, etc.), an explanation of the morphological, physiological and reproductive characteristics of its plants, and a compilation of precedents in botanical exploration.

This is followed by a chapter with botanical classification keys to identify plants of the genera with the greatest number of species and the greatest difficulty of classification, illustrated with original drawings.

Plants of the Pyrenees Peaks is a perfect complement to the Essential Guides to the Flowers of the Pre-Pyrenees and the Flowers of the Ordesa and Monte Perdido National Park .
