2nd edition. Book Condition: Very Good-.

Blue-green cloth, 5×7 inches, with a gilt on navy blue cover label; binding sound, spine faded to brown with a small amount of loss to the very top and bottom of the spine, corners relatively lightly bumped with just the slightest bit of wear, a few lightish stains to the boards. Internally fairly crisp, clean and bright with almost no age-toning and just a little foxing, just a few minor creases and blemishes. Attractive bookplate of the notable botanist Mary Briggs to front pastedown. Includes 14 hand-coloured plates, only lightly foxed, almost all still retaining their tissue guards. x+118pp with 14 plates. Overall Very Good. Photos available on request. Very scarce. Interesting provenance. This beautifully illustrated pocket-book was produced as a portable guide to be taken into the field. Though primarily focused on plants, it includes some details on fungi, specifying their culinary uses, medicinal properties and toxicity.
