From the mighty Brown Bull of Cooley to the fairy‑horses of the Burren, from wolf‑kings and warrior hounds to magical cows, hares and seals, this captivating book reveals the wonderful creatures that populate our folklore, myths and legends.   Drawing on medieval bestiaries, Celtic myth, saintly legends and generations of folk belief, Ireland’s Animals – Myths, Legends and Folklore tells the stories behind thirty of Ireland’s most intriguing animals. Here, horses emerge from lakes, pigs fight heroes, foxes outwit kings, and bees carry ancient wisdom. Richly illustrated and meticulously researched, this is a unique celebration of the deep, mystical bond between the Irish people and the animals that surround them.
