If You Build It, He Will Come is the story of an eight-year project to bring the previously extinct osprey back to the beautiful Belvoir area of England, which culminated in a successful brood of two chicks in 2022, ending over two centuries of waiting. Complete with personal observations, detailed knowledge and research – provided by osprey expert Dr Tim Mackrill, and many photographs of the project – taken during the author’s 120+ visits to the nesting platform, this memoir offers a unique insight into this uplifting story of persistence, collaboration and coincidences, whilst also acting as a meticulously detailed and complete, yet simple, start-to-finish guide for anyone contemplating such a project themselves.
