For many years, the Helm Birds of the West Indies has been the go-to guide for the region, as a clear, straightforward, no nonsense book. This new slightly enlarged second edition takes the good basics of the prevision edition and improves on it … Birds of the West Indies is both a practical field guide and excellent value for money … I can strongly recommend having this excellent guide on a birding trip to the West Indies. * BTO News * The 2nd edition of Raffaele et al.’s Birds of the West Indies is well researched and produced. It will certainly have great appeal in the Caribbean and is a welcome addition to my library. * Journal of Caribbean Ornithology * This is the second edition of a book originally published 20 years ago and is so different from that first printing as to virtually warrant being considered a new book ... The book’s illustrations are excellent and do justice to some of the handsomest birds the traveller is ever likely to encounter. * Ibis * It seems to me that this field guide does what all good field guides should do. * Travels with Birds *
