The guide is a concise summary of the main components of the British Standard BS 3998: 2010 Tree Work – Recommendations published by the British Standards Institution (BSI) It is not the intention to replace or replicate the full standard or the contents of the commentary and explanatory notes. The guide conveys in an A5 size handy booklet what should be done when working in accordance with BS3998 standard recommendations. Throughout the sections reference is provided to guide the reader to the relevant section in the full version.
The presetational conventions of BSI have been followed in this concise version, it’s recommendations are expressed in sentences in which the principal auxiliary verb is “should”
