Annonaceae: Neotropical Genera and Species

In the Neotropics the Annonaceae is one of the largest tropical plant families. Many genera are of economic importance (fruits, and for ornamental purposes). This CD-ROM contains a fully up-to-date information system on all known genera (39) in Central and South America with concise descriptions and additional information. For 263 species of 17 revised genera highly detailed descriptions are provided,accompanied by line drawings, photographs and full color slides of plant, flower, fruit and seed, and geographical distribution. An interactive geographic information system presents distribution data and supports geographic searches and comparisons. A literature database with over 2400 references and a hyperlinked illustrated glossary of terms are part of the system. This CD-ROM is a taxonomic reference work for researchers from various disciplines such as plant taxonomists, curators of plant collections, ecologists, foresters, ethnobotanists, pharmacologists, and nature conservationists.
