Stylish illustrations by the Brazilian artist d'Hipolito perfectly compliment this poetic non-fiction volume about the Amazon - its wildlife, historic civilisations and the jeopardy it's in now. Both text and images make the information zing. * The Sunday Times * A fine blend of Amazon basics, the river's rarities, and human influence. * Booklist.com * A mesmerising kaleidoscope of factual information for ages 8-11. * The Association for Science Education *
