The escalating global concern over environmental pollution has necessitated the development of innovative and sustainable solutions for pollution management. In recent years, nanoparticles have emerged as a promising tool in this endeavor, offering unique properties that enable efficient removal, degradation, or transformation of pollutants. Nanoparticles with their high surface-to-volume ratio, can be engineered to possess specific properties, such as high reactivity, photocatalytic activity, and adsorption capacity, making them suitable for various pollution management applications. The book “Nanoparticles for Pollution Management” aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the current state of research and applications in this rapidly evolving field. The book is divided into several chapters, each focusing on a specific aspect of nanoparticle-based pollution management. The chapters cover a range of topics, including the properties of nanoparticles, their application in air, groundwater, marine, and soil pollution remediation, and their potential impact on the environment and human health. Emphasis is given on the potential applications of nanoparticles in real-world pollution management scenario. Case studies with examples in nanotechnology for pollution control have been highlighted and their efficacy and potential for scalability discussed. A detailed analysis of the current challenges and opportunities in nanoparticle-based pollution management is given. The target audience for this book comprises researchers, scientists, and engineers working in the field of environmental science and technology interested in sustainable solutions for pollution management. Overall, the book “Nanoparticles for Pollution Management” aims to provide a valuable resource for those seeking to understand the potential of nanoparticles in addressing environmental pollution and to inspire further research and innovative solutions for a more sustainable future.
