Weed and Pest Control in Forestry: a guide to the safe and effective use of crop protection products in forestry and farm woodlands, is a handy little guide on current best practice in the control of weeds, insects and other pests & diseases.

In 2021, UK pesticide regulation passed from the EU to the UK. Following the 2020 consultation National Action Plan for the Sustainable Use of Pesticides (NAP), new recommendations are expected but not until at least the spring 2022. It is anticipated that all forest managers who advise on the use of pesticides will need to be qualified. Colin Palmer, the author of this pamphlet, had produced a webinar dealing with some aspects of what is currently dealt with under the BASIS qualification scheme, as applicable to woodland and forest use. This supplement provides a written reference to the webinar as well as a stand alone document.
