Dr. Pavan Kumar is a distinguished academician and researcher specializing in Remote Sensing and Climate Change, currently serving as Assistant Professor of Wildlife Management, College of Horticulture and Forestry, Rani Lakshmi Bai Central Agricultural University, Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh, India. He holds a Ph.D. in Natural Sciences and has made impactful contributions to geospatial technology and environmental monitoring. He received the Innovation Award from the Asian Association of Remote Sensing (China), the Young Scientist Award from the International Geographical Union (USA), and multiple national honors including the Prof. T.S. Murthy Award from IIT Kharagpur and accolades from the National Environmental Science Academy. Dr. Kumar has published over 70 research papers in reputed international journals and contributed to more than 20 books on diverse topics such as land use change, biodiversity conservation, forest ecosystem vulnerability, climate change impacts, and agricultural responses during the COVID-19 pandemic. He has led and contributed to several major research projects funded by SERB-DST, NABARD, and the Forest Department of Uttar Pradesh. His international exposure includes academic visits and fellowships in countries like Malaysia (2010), Indonesia (2013, 2025), Brazil (2015), China (2015, 2016), France (2016), The Netherland (2016), Italy (2017), USA (2017, 2018), Japan (2020), West Africa (2025) and Singapore (2023). Through fellowships by bodies like IOC/UNESCO, CLIVAR, ACAM, and WCRP, he has contributed to global dialogues on climate change and sustainable resource management. Dr. Kumar continues to blend technological innovation with ecological conservation, making valuable contributions to India’s environmental research and policy landscape. Dr. Preeti Kumari is an Assistant Professor at Amity University, Ranchi, Jharkhand, India, specializing in metal(loid) analysis, biodiversity monitoring, spatial distribution studies, and ecological as well as human health risk assessments. Her research spans ecotoxicology, environmental monitoring, heavy metal contamination, bioaccumulation, microplastics, and remediation techniques. Dr. Kumari has authored multiple high-impact publications in journals such as Human and Ecological Risk Assessment, Ecological Indicators, Environmental Science and Pollution Research, and Environmental Monitoring and Assessment, covering topics from heavy metal bioaccessibility in fish to the role of bioindicators in aquatic systems. She has contributed book chapters to Springer volumes on climate-smart agriculture and aquaculture bioindicators. Her international research engagements include studies on microplastic contamination and advanced bioassessment frameworks, and she has presented her work at conferences in India, Thailand, and beyond, earning recognition such as first place in poster presentation at ICECS 2018. She is also an innovator, holding a filed patent on a process for removing metal(loid)s from surface water using fish scales.
