Ted Green is recognised as one of the country’s leading authorities on Ancient Trees, woodland fungi, forest soils and associated micro-organisms. An iconoclastic figure who constantly challenges authority and scientific orthodoxies, he is renowned as a legend in arboricultural circles, and consulted widely by those responsible for or advocates of ‘green’ policies and their implementation.

Since earliest childhood, and with Windsor Great Park as his playground, where he developed an encyclopaedic knowledge of trees and birds, Ted has been asking questions about nature and our environment. Professor Mick Crawley, an internationally renowned ecologist, calls Ted ‘the complete naturalist’ In his book The Flora of Berkshire.
