Tree Establishment on Landfill Sites

This report follows three years practical research commissioned by the Department of the Environment on the place of trees on modern landfills. It presents a detailed account of all aspects of the research and provides updated guidance developed as a result of the investigation. Contents include: Review of landfill research project; Discussuin – tree establishment, root penetration of landfill caps, and changes in landfill site engineering; and Revised recommendations for tree planting on biodegradable landfill sites.
