The present 2nd edition of the reprint of ‘American Woods’ by
RB Hough ( from the original 15 volumes) contains photographic illustrations of the original prepared specimens of the wood of 354 tree species and varieties. For each tree species the three diagnostically relevant sections (cross, radial,tangential, in that order) are illustrated, and each tree is supplied with a brief ‘portrait’ Text in English, German and French throughout.
