Scarce. A pocket edition (approx. 10x15cm) of this popular work. No date but the publisher operated under this name from 1865 to 1873; gift inscription dated 1882 to FFEP. Original stationer’s stamp to FFEP of J. B. Sansom, Duke St., Barrow in Furness.
Blue cloth with decorative titles on gilt background to spine and cover and floral stamping in black to both. 128pp.+16pp. publ.advs (List of Juvenile Books). Boards very lightly rubbed and edge-worn only; gilt remains fairly bright. Remaining firmly bound; contents ever so slightly shocked. Contents remain crisp and generally fairly clean with light age toning, just the occasional small mark. Colour frontis. lightly marked in margins only; tissue guard present but becoming detached. Black and white illustrations throughout.
