Front and rear cover cloth remains clean and bright, however, bumped and worn corners, loss to top and bottom of spine, spine cloth tanned. Front joint cracked, hinges cracked, close to becoming disbound; tape residue to front endpaper. Internally generally crisp and clean with light age toning, occasional light spotting, very occasional thumb mark. Complete with colour folding map and 37 plates with tissue guards: plates a little foxed with the occasional mild bumping at the extremities but otherwise crisp and clean; folding map lightly bumped around the edges with a 3″ margin tear.
A landmark text in geology, combining Murchison’s research with global findings, featuring detailed maps of Wales and engravings of fossils like crustaceans, cephalopods, and fish.
