Illustrated Textbook on Sericulture

For the sericulture farmer, an increase in the production of cocoons means an increase in the income. Cocoon crop is considered a growth factor for the agriculture industry. As there are supporting systems for the price of cocoons, one expects that all efforts will be made to increase cocoon production. On the other hand, there is urgent need to manage the sericulture with limited labour. In order to increase the cocoon production, it is necessary to devise new techniques which will reduce the labour force but increase the final yield. This text has been conceived with all of this in mind. Coverage is included of the preparation of mulberry – the foundation of sericulture. The text begins with simple study of the fundamental aspects and later explains the techniques of sericulture operations step by step. Figures and photographs support the text and efforts have been made to present information in a straightforward manner.
