“I move down to the garden through the windy path and every time I sigh out. I may be feeling awful emotionally… but I always get a release of stress. I always sense a movement towards calm. Calm. It never fails to come.”A place for quiet contemplation, inspiration, and companionship: the garden is many things to Will Young. In his Garden Diaries, Will charts a year spent transforming the dauntingly large, wild space he has acquired and opens up about the feelings and memories it triggers along the way. From spells of anxiety and depression, to stories from his musical career, encounters with his neighbours, politicians, and celebrities, to the warm welcome he has found in the horticultural world. Will shares how the garden is central to his life, how it grounds him and helps bolster his mental health. Told with disarming candour, humility, and plenty of good humour, Garden Diaries is a story of growth in every sense.
