Very scarce. Green cloth boards with gilt spine and cover titles and decorative black cover border; remaining bright, though lightly marked with light wear to extremities. Teal endpapers; hinges cracked but binding remains firm. 1879 inscription to FFEP: “Alice Lowson; from S. L. C.”, possibly the author’s son? Contents remain very crisp and bright. Light foxing affects roughly half the book, moreso endpapers and a couple of leaves towards the front. Includes 20 mounted real photographs. Overall an attractive copy of this very scarce work.
