Euphausiids of the World Ocean

This interactive and beautifully illustrated CD-ROM contains an up-to-date taxonomic reference work on the order of Euphausiacea, from the Scripps Institution of Oceanography. Detailed information on all 86 species and higher taxa is given, including full systematic descriptions, taxonomy, biogeography, references, colour photographs and drawings. The database also includes unique information on larval development of 40 species. Two types of fully illustrated, computer-assisted identification keys provide quick and easy access to species information. The distribution information is stored in an interactive geographic information system, allowing fast geographic searches or comparisons of distribution patterns. The entire text is hyperlinked, and a reference database contains all the principal literature for the euphausiids.
