This second edition to the Crossbill guide to North-east Poland has been fully updated.
The guidebook covers roughly the Podlasie region which has two of Europe’s most spectacular and famous national parks. Białowieża National Park, often considered the last more-or-less primeval forest of the European temperate zone, and Biebrza National Park, home to one of the last near-natural river systems in temperate Europe. They harbour an exceptional diversity of birds and mammals, including European Bison, Elk, Beaver and large carnivores. Also included are details to other national parks in the region: Narew and Wigry, as well as Augustów Forest and Suwałki Landscape Park.
The book is illustrated and presented in a new layout, first introduced in Crossbill publications last year. It also contains a QR link to the GPX files of the routes.
It includes 20 detailed routes and 5 sites.
Crossbill Guides offer thorough and practical guides for naturalists and nature lovers. They offer background information, detailed routes and site descriptions, plus tips on finding and watching all kinds of wildlife. Each route offers detailed descriptions of where and how to find wildlife and wildflowers and shows you the characteristics of the landscape and geology.
