Catalogue of Botanical Illustrations: At the National Museum and Galleries of Wales

Botanical illustration, a true marriage of art and science, has always held a popular fascination, as both an aid to scientific research and a means of preserving the ephemeral beauty of plants. There are over 7,000 botanical illustrations in the collections of the National Museums & Galleries of Wales, now comprehensively catalogued for the first time. The catalogue includes works by renowned artists such as Ehret, Blackwell and Redoute, as well as commissioned works by contemporary artists.
