Author Biography

• Hervé Cubizolle is a Professor at the University of Saint-Étienne. An expert in geomorphology and paleoenvironments, he studies the environmental history of peatlands in the Massif Central and across Europe. His work aims to trace the evolution of these environments in the face of climatic and anthropogenic changes, while advocating for integrated management of these biodiversity and carbon reservoirs.
• Daniel Gilbert, a Professor at the University of Burgundy Franche-Comté, has been exploring the secrets of peatlands for many years. Through his work at the Chrono-environment laboratory, he seeks to understand how these living climate archives react to global warming. His expertise makes him a key player in the conservation of these unique environments, often overlooked but vital to the ecological balance of our regions.
• Lise Pinault holds a doctorate from the Chrono-environment laboratory (UBFC). Her research, conducted under the supervision of Daniel Gilbert, has led to a new inventory of French peatlands, filling a data gap of over 70 years. Today, she is dedicated to studying nature-based solutions aimed at mobilizing peatland ecosystems in the fight against global warming.
