Author Biography

Prof. Shailendra Kumar Arya presently holds the position of Professor at the Department of Biotechnology Engineering within the University Institute of Engineering & Technology, Panjab University, Chandigarh, India. He attained his doctoral degree in Biotechnology from the esteemed Indian Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, in 2010. With an affiliation dating back to 2006, Dr. Arya has been a dedicated member of Panjab University. His primary focus lies in the realm of Enzyme Engineering and Bioremediation, showcasing a profound expertise in enzymes, wastewater treatment, and sustainable development. Dr. Arya boasts an extensive publication record, contributing over 100 research articles to prestigious international journals. Furthermore, he has actively engaged in numerous international and national conferences, where he has featured as a distinguished speaker. Leading a dynamic research group, Dr. Arya mentors both PhD and Masters students, guiding them in diverse projects encompassing Enzyme Engineering, Wastewater Treatment, Algal Studies, and Bioremediation. The collaborative efforts of his research team contribute significantly to advancing knowledge and innovation in these critical areas. Dr. Gursharan Singh is working as an Associate Professor in the Department of Medical & Laboratory Sciences, Lovely Professional University, India. He worked at UIET, Biotechnology Branch, Panjab University Chandigarh (Sector 25-B) as an Assistant Professor (Adhoc faculty) Feb. 2013 to June 2017. He received his Ph.D. from Biotechnology Department, Panjab University, Chandigarh (2009, July) and Post doctorate from South Dakota School of Mines & Tech. Rapid City, USA (Jan. 2010 to Jan. 2011). He also did Post doctorate from Agriculture & Agrifood, Canada, Quebec (June 2011 to June 2012). He has published more than 90 articles in scientific journals of repute. Further his name is present in the list of 2.0% scientists of the world in the area of biotechnology for the last two consecutive years, 2022 and 2023, data released by the Stanford University, USA. Aditya Bhal­la, PhD, is the Vice Pres­i­dent of Process Devel­op­ment and Man­u­fac­tur­ing at Kan­vas Bio­sciences. In his pre­vi­ous role, Aditya spear­head­ed the Process and Ana­lyt­i­cal Devel­op­ment team at Fed­er­a­tion Bio, where he led the devel­op­ment of nov­el man­u­fac­tur­ing process­es for micro­bio­me ther­a­peu­tics con­tain­ing large num­bers of micro­bial strains. While at DuPont Health Sci­ences, Aditya led micro­bial bio­process devel­op­ment, extend­ing from pilot-scale process­es to a com­mer­cial scale. Aditya is a Bio­chem­i­cal Engi­neer and Micro­bi­ol­o­gist by train­ing. He holds a PhD in Chem­i­cal Engi­neer­ing and a BS/MS in Micro­bi­ol­o­gy (Hons). He has authored numer­ous patent and sci­en­tif­ic publications.
