Author Biography

Kirsten Bomblies is a Professor at ETH-Zürich. She obtained a BA in Biochemistry at the University of Pennsylvania in 1996 before becoming a lab manager for Detlef Weigel at the Salk Institute. She completed a PhD in Genetics in 2004, working with John Doebley at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. She was a postdoc with Detlef Weigel at the Max Planck Institute in Tuebingen, Germany (2004–2009). She was an Assistant and Cabbott Associate Professor at Harvard University (2009–2015), and a group leader at the John Innes Centre before moving to ETH-Zürich in 2019. She received a MacArthur Fellowship in 2008 and in 2026 was elected to the National Academy of Sciences (US).
