Divided into nine habitats, the book shares nine foragable plants from each environment, complete with their uses, photographs for ID, history and folk tales, each herb’s healing properties, and thirty recipes for edibles and remedies throughout. CHAPTER 1: The Nine Plants Spell CHAPTER 2: Nine Fragrant Plants of a Garden CHAPTER 3: Nine Shady Plants of the Woodlands CHAPTER 4: Nine Bygone Plants of the Meadows CHAPTER 5: Nine Secret Plants of the Town CHAPTER 6: Nine Plashy Plants of the Wetlands and Riverbanks CHAPTER 7: Nine Bracing Plants of the Sea CHAPTER 8: Nine Shy Weeds of the Wastelands CHAPTER 9: Nine Cunning Herbs That Are Free This book offers a fun new way to explore foraging and the use of herbs, discovering little-known treasures along the way.

"This is an unusual, personal and really quite magical book, inspired by the true stories of real people." – Lia Leendertz, gardening journalist and author of the bestselling Almanac series "In this book, Adele reminds us of the sheer magic of herbs and plants and their ability to transform us, lift our mood and elevate us. These humble but mighty beings have been known for countless generations, yet in the book their ancient magic and beauty is groundbreaking, contemporary and incredibly exciting!" – Kate and Andrew Perry, founders of Urban Herbs, authors of The Herb Gardening Handbook “Adele's writing is a missing link between the lost stories, hidden powers, and healing gifts of the wild herbs we pass by every day.” – Gaz Oakley, chef and author of five books including Plant to Plate
