1st edition. Book Condition: Very Good.

Original blue/green cloth, 16mo sized (11x17cm), in embossed with a floral design; red spine label with gilt titles and decorative border; housed (for some time it would seem) inside a home-made slipcase. Remarkably little wear for age: solidly bound with hinges and joints entirely intact; titles bright; outer corners are entirely unbumped, just with the tiniest bit of wear; spine now a green-brown colour; top and bottom of spine worn with some loss to the outer layer and to the 4mm split to the top of the spine. Internally remarkably crisp, clean and bright: crisp corners; almost no age-toning or foxing; just a small crease to the lower corner of the rear FEP and a single ink mark being a short, neat line in the margin of a single page; contemporary ownership inscription of Eustace Rogers Conder to FFEP. Includes a stunning hand coloured frontispiece, a pictorial title-page with red titles and 40 illustrative wood engravings. XX + 244pp. Overall Very Good. Photos available on request. An exceptional copy of this very scarce early bee keeping book.
