The latest book in the excellent Natural Heritage of Scotland series from Scottish Natural Heritage (SNH). Contains the papers read at SNH’s conference on the subject and provides valuable, high quality, up-to-date information interspersed with colour images.
The book contains 30 chapters which draw on the experience of a range of international experts in facing and resolving the different challenges presented when trying to manage species in need of conservation, from dealing with invasive non-native species, to resolving conflicts of interest between native species and our sustainable exploitation of species.
Concludes with two chapters that consider how best to deliver species management within a wider ecosystem approach, and how we can continue with meaningful species management in the face of climate change which is having an increasing impact on species and ecosystems around the world.
