Ecological Methods. 4th Ed.
Publication due March 2016
The previous edition of this classic text provided a unique synthesis of ecosystems. Techniques used to obtain both absolute and relative population estimates were described, and approaches to the direct measurement of births, deaths, migration and the construction and interpretation of life tables reviewed.
The text was extensively illustrated, clearly describing a wide range of equipment and methods of analysis.
Amongst other updates, this 4th edition replaces the computational methods described in the 3rd ed. with a description of the available software and brief descriptions of use and where to obtain it. In particular, reference is made to procedures available in R and other freely available software systems.
